The loss of our Black Men and Women--George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Sandra Bland, and many more represent the systemic racism that has continued across the United States. Black lives matter and we have to stop the injustice that is devastating our communities, families and the future of our generations. Enough is Enough! All lives matter; and we must be fair and just to all! It is time to lift up our voices - 1) vote in your local, state and national elections; 2) contact your local and state officials and make your voice heard by telling them to change the laws (Approve the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act); and 3) write your President; and let him know that non-compassion and silence is not the answer; and that it is time to unite this country and not pull it apart.
In the tennis community, many are putting their rackets down and hands up to lift their voice against the injustice of racism. Also, please support Black Owned Businesses in Durham and Orange County and across the Country. Your distribution of dollars can make a change. Our heart goes out to all who have lost their lives. Please know that change is going to come! Americans across this world stand up for you, today!
