STATE GAMES
Tennis – Youth, Adult & Senior
June 2-4, 2006
Don’t miss this great opportunity to come play tennis
at the 2006 State Games on Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June
4, 2006 at Cary Tennis Park sponsored by the North Carolina
Amateur Sports and the State Games of North Carolina. Event
may start June 1, if necessary. This is a USTA and NCTA
Sanctioned Tournament for all adult divisions. You must
be a USTA member to participate. Memberships are available
at www.usta.com or www.nctennis.com. The junior events are
not sanctioned.
The events include Boys and Girls 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 singles;
Men and Women’s NTRP 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0
Singles and Doubles; and Mixed Combo 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0,
9.0 10.0 Doubles. Junior ages are determined by the participant’s
age on June 2, 2006. Each person must register separately
for doubles. The cost is $33. Save $5 by registering online
at www.ncsports.org. The deadline for registration is May
19, 2006. On-site registration will be available on June
2 from 7 am to 8 am only.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of this statewide,
Olympic-style sports festival for citizens of all ages and
skill levels. The focus of the State Games is on personal
development through physical fitness, health, drug-free
competition, academic excellence and sportsmanship. Any
resident of North Carolina can participate if they have
lived here 30 days prior to the competition date. Participants
must be amateur and must abide by the rules of the event.
With the Olympic tradition, the top three finalists in each
event will receive gold, silver and bronze metals. Other
sports events will be available, if you wish to participate.
Help push Durham-Orange Community Tennis Association (DOCTA)
to win the USTA North Carolina CTA trophy for the most tennis
participants in your area at this event. Support tennis
in the Durham-Orange Community and help us grow!

it to State Games of NC, Dept. TN, P.O. Box 12727, RTP,
NC 27709. Please contact the State Games office at 919-361-1133
for more details and a State Games booklet to register.
Also, registration forms will be posted at local parks and
recreation bulletin boards beginning April 1.
