Congratulations are in order for the Durham Women’s 4.0 League Team. Local league competition in Durham was tough. Men and/or Women players in the 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 categories all competed in the State Championships held in Pinehurst during the weekend of July 4-7, 2002. They all faced many challenges. Some lost by team match and others by one game. However, the Durham Women’s 4.0 Team, Captained by Angela Allen won the victory. They are the women’s 4.0 State Champtions for 2002. The women including Angela Allen, Sarah Baldwin, Diana Denny, Lynise Devance, Ann Duvosin, Effie Jefferson, Ingrid Jones, Kathy Pollack, Della McDowell, Bertha Rogers, and Cheryl Stewart. What a great team effort these ladies showed to win the competition on Sunday morning 3-2. and throughout the tournament. We congratulate them on their success. The Women’s 4.0 Teams winning streak ended at the sectionals in Louisville, Kentucky. However, the ladies represented the Durham community proud. Please give your support!
