LEAGUE TENNIS FOR JUNIORS

Beginning in March 2004, youth between the ages of 12 and 18 will be able to join tennis teams based at city parks or local clubs and play in a format similar to adult league tennis. This will be a great opportunity for kids to participate in a team sport and will help them prepare for middle school, high school and tournament tennis.

· Players must have previous tennis experience and play with adequate skill to independently keep score and complete a match.
· An experienced coach will lead each team. (Volunteer Coaches Needed)
· All teams will be coed
· Teams will practice at least once per week
· Teams will play matches at least once per week on Monday afternoons, Friday afternoons or occasionally Saturday mornings.
· Registration Deadline: March 1 (TEAMS ONLY)
· Minimum number for a team will be 12 players
· Individual registration will be taken through out league play
· The season will go from March 15 until May 2004
· Suggested Format: 2 boys singles, 2 girls singles, 2 boys doubles, and 2 girls doubles
· The top players from each team will compete in a tournament at the end of the season
· The cost will be $43 per player (an additional fee will be added to teams advancing to the state tournament)
