ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
A 5-YEAR REVIEW
Established in 1997, the Durham-Orange Community Tennis
Association looks back at where it all began to now. The
organization made great accomplishments including:
1) conducting Tennis Carnivals for over 150 children; ,
USA Tennis Free for Alls and USA Tennis 123 Programs in
Durham and Orange Counties
for the past 4 years
2) implementing training for tennis instructors—ACE
Workshop
3) Creating a new website
4) sponsoring the NC State Closed 12s and 14s Sportsmanship
Award for 3 years
5) conducting an annual junior tennis tournament for the
past 3 years
6) conducting an adult USTA tennis tournament for 1 year
7) reaching out to local parks and recreation programs and
offering grant dollars to teach USA123
8) reaching out to lcoal tennis clubs and professionals
9) offering Tennis Development Scholarships to 7 juniors
10) establishing a newsletter
11) conducting our 1st Volunteer Apprecation
12) establishing a group of association umpires and referees
for our local tournaments
