$15,000
GRANT AWARDED
Durham-Orange Community Tennis Association (DOCTA) was
awarded a 2005 United States Tennis Association (USTA)
Community Funding Grant for $15,000 for general operating
support. This funding will allow the Association to develop,
expand and sustain the work of the organization by promoting
and developing tennis programming in both Durham and Orange
Counties; and marketing and promoting the organization,
programs, services and activities to youth and adults.
The Community Funding Grant will be used to promote
DOCTA, its tennis events and activities, and others within
Durham-Orange Counties via advertisement/marketing. Also,
the grant will support funding a Community Tennis Coordinator
to serve as a liaison between the Association and the
Community and to coordinate, promote and develop local
tennis programming within community for the Association.
In addition, the grant will allow us to establish new
programming and enhance current programming for middle
school programming.
