The
Future of Tennis…David Senerchia
David Senerchia is 10 years old, and is a future tennis
star in the eyes of many. He resides in Rougemont, NC
with his parents, Jay and Suzan Senerchia. When asked
why he liked tennis, he said “I saw it on TV,
and thought it was fun! David plays with his Dad, Jay.
His interest in tennis started a year ago with tennis
lessons with Jimmy Jones, Durham.
David and his family participated in DOCTA’s Annual
May Tennis Carnival. Soon after the Carnival, David
played his first USTA Sanctioned Novice tennis tournament
in Roxboro, NC losing in the finals of the Boys 12s
Singles. What a thrill! David has played five tournaments
to date. He has natural tennis talent and is amazing
to watch said Anna McLean, DOCTA Board, after seeing
him play in a junior tournament in Greensboro. David
won the CTA Junior Fire Starter Tournament in Concord
in July. He was a finalist in the August Greensboro
tournament. He is currently ranked #40 in the state
in the Boys 10 year old division. David’s goal
is to play in the U.S. Open one day. His parents are
very proud of him, and feel he works hard, is competitive,
and has a good attitude.
David
was recommended throughout the DOCTA Open Junior Tennis
Challenge by several players and parents for a Good
Sportsmanship Award because of his great attitude on
and off the tennis court. DOCTA is proud to salute one
of the future tennis stars in the Durham-Orange Area—David
Senerchia.
